Portfolio

Welcome to the portfolio of Web Application Developer Alif (Abdullah Rubiyath). My Portfolio lists the properties I have developed while working full time as well as my freelance works.

World Fishing Network

WFN.TV I was responsible for re-constructing the entire Back-end and Front-end of this site from Oct 2007 - Sept 2009. Few of my notable development includes:
  • Developed a custom CMS (Content Management System) for the entire WFN.TV site. It allows managing blogs, videos, photos and monitor comments posted on the site. The CMS is OO-based. Its well documented using phpDoc and extendable.
  • Developed the Front-end php classes for layout, and XHTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery) for a site redesign launched on July 2008. I also developed reusable Components using PHP and Javascript (jQuery) like Carousel, Poll to enrich User Experience.
  • Optimized Webpage loading by optimizing XHTML, CSS, Javascript, using Output Compression, reducing HTTP Requests and improved Caching techniques. YSlow! Rating improved from F (33) to C (70/72)
  • Regularly develop micro-sites for it. Some examples of such includes Adopt an Angler, 2008 Canadian Open Fishing Contest.

Technologies Used: PHP, Java, MySQL, XHTML, XML, XPath, CSS, Javascript (jQuery), Flash, Apache (mod_rewrite, mod_deflate, mod_expire).

WFN.TV Store

WFN.TV Shop I developed the user account system, e-commerce store for WFN.TV. Using osCommerce as a base for the store, I customized it and integrated it with the existing account system of WFN.TV. Later I also added a Forum (using vBulletin), on the site. The account system for WFN.TV Store, site and Forum and the CMS are all tied together.

Technologies Used: PHP, MySQL, XHTML, XML, XPath, CSS, Javascript (jQuery), osCommerce, vBulletin.

GOLTV

GOLTV I developed a CMS (Content Management System) from scratch and several sections of its Front-end. Some features of its CMS:
  • The Content Management System (CMS) allows managing contents for various sections of the site and provides multiple levels of accessibility [i.e. normal users, bloggers, experts, etc.].
  • Each blogger, Expert etc. has their own individual account in the CMS. An Expert, for example, on the site receives questions from visitors on the front-end (ask an expert section) and can answer it from the CMS.
I also developed several sections of its front-end and. It's Carousel and schedule page's were mostly built re-using and extending the ones I had previsously built for WFN.TV.

Technologies Used: PHP, MySQL, XHTML, XML, XPath, CSS, Javascript (jQuery).

Game TV

GameTV I was responsible for developing mainly its Back-end and few sections of its Front-end. Few notable development includes:
  • Developed an Admin Panel used to manage several sections of the site
  • Developed the support system for Game TV Bingo Application. The support system is used to track visitor questions and responses.
  • Developed several Reusable Front-end Components like Carousel

Technologies Used: PHP, Java, MySQL, XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery).

Major League Gaming Canada

MLGCanada. I was responsible for managing this site from April 2008 to July 2009. I have built several custom Joomla modules for the site, and once a custom Joomla template. I have also been responsible for its maintenance and support. Lately, I have also integrated jQuery in several sections of the site.

Technologies Used: PHP, MySQL, Joomla, XHTML, XML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery).

Insight Sports Ltd.

Insight Sports Ltd. I have developed its front-end and back-end. This was created by replacing a Flash-based site and newly launched around early 2008 and is the first site where I have used jQuery to create effects. It also has an Admin Panel allowing administrator to change contents of few sections (mainly Job postings) on the site.

Technologies Used: PHP, XHTML, XML, XPath, CSS, Javascript (jQuery).

Facebook Applications: Adopt Angler 2009

Facebook Adopt Angler App I developed several Facebook Applications, most of them were related to contest. One notable Facebook Application is the 'Adopt an Angler 2009' contest. Features of this App:
  • It allows Facebook users to submit/upload any photo, video or text entry.
  • Photos can be selected directly from the Facebook Account's Photo Gallery and uploaded easily.
  • Video uploads from this App are converted to FLV format on-the-fly and uploaded into Video CDN.
  • It also allows Facebook users to view, rate entries in the contest and post updates on the User's Wall.

I also developed the Adopt Angler 2009 contest on WFN.TV site. A rich interactive Application.
